About us

पुनर्जन्म means rebirth.

We're a young Nepali company with one simple idea: the plastic Nepal throws away should get a second life here, as useful things made in Nepal.

Nepal throws away 250,000 to 300,000 tonnes of plastic a year, and barely a fifth of it is recycled. The rest is dumped, burned, or ends up in rivers like the Bagmati and the Bishnumati.

At the same time, the country imports plastic furniture, boards and raw plastic from abroad. We think that plastic should be made here, from what's already here.

That's what we're building in the Kathmandu Valley: a place where Nepal's plastic is given a new life as strong, lasting things for parks, workplaces and homes, and where that work creates good local jobs.

Plastic made here, from what's already here.

What we care about.

Cleaner rivers and streetsEvery kilo we give a second life is a kilo that isn't burned or washed downstream.
Good local jobsWe want to bring informal waste workers into steady, safe, formal work.
Made in NepalThings we import today, made at home, to last for years.

The founders

The people behind it.

One from technology, one from finance, both from Nepal, building Punarjanma together.
